As a child I remember asking my Mom, what shall I draw? She always replied use your imagination Henny Penn, that's what she called me. I drew everything I could see and when I could think of nothing else I made them up. I found out later the drawings I made up are called abstract. My seven year old neice at the time Cachet looked at my protfolio and said, uncle Henry nothing in these pictures are real.
I've awoke many times my body would not move. I could see a dark figure with large black eyes right over my bed. I honestly thought I was beginning to loose my mind. I went to a psychiatrist to get to the bottom of these experiences. I was told it was called sleep paralysis very natural. It's the body's way of protecting us from acting out our dreams. The rest was fear induced. I had to draw of these fear filled dream experiences.
I first heard of the word Chakra when a dear friend took me to have mine cleansed. Afterwards I was intrigued by the entire process. I read every thing I could get my hands on the subject matter. I've cleansed my Chakras for 20 years now and I am a firm believer in the benefits of such activity. These drawing were drawn with the chakra system in mind and may be used to follow when cleansing your own.
As a small child I loved to dance as far back as I can remember. I used to dance in front of my entire family at reunions. My parents would turn on the music and say watch him go. My eldest sister said I did the funky chicken to Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steay" like I was floating on air. She also said that I was destined to be on stage. She was correct I have danced professonally for 20 years plus. Some of my personal favorite drawings are in this gallery.
From the beginning of time time, humankind has sought to anwer the questions who are we, what are we, where are we from and, why are we here? Most turn to religion for answers. I personaly have turn within. Through prayer and meditation I have unlocked doors within me that lead to places so unreal words cannot describe. Most of my drawings if not all are of theses journey's taken within.
Here on the planet Earth there are other worlds, places where fairy tales, legends and, lore originate. Hidden by powerful magical enchantments cast to prtect and preserve an ancient race of magical beings man and beast. You may reach these destinations via dreams, out of body excursions, deep meditative states, thru the looking glass and over the rainbow.
